FERRIE Bodde is due back in Wales tomorrow with Roberto Martinez insisting he will get no special treatment.
Bodde has expressed his desire to leave for Derby County after the Rams tabled a bid worth up to £2million for his services.
But Martinez insists the wantaway midfielder will be regarded as just another player when Swansea City kick-off pre-season training tomorrow.
"Until Ferrie is told differently, he is a Swansea City player," the Swansea manager said.
"He has got another two years on his contract and I can definitely see him playing for us next season.
"Yes, something could still happen with him, but that is true with every player in our squad.
"He has been the story of the summer and I understand it’s probably going to carry on, but Ferrie’s in the same situation as every one of his team-mates.
"We’re planning for the new season and we’re planning with Ferrie as part of our squad."
Bodde, who again refused to comment on his situation when contacted by the Evening Post this week, has told Swansea he wants to leave for Pride Park.
It is understood the player sees a move to Derby as a step towards his dream of playing international football for Holland.
Even more significant, perhaps, is the huge pay rise on offer in the Midlands.
It is thought Bodde could quadruple his wages should he join a Derby side awash with cash following last season’s sorry stint in the Premier League.
But for a move to happen, a transfer fee must first be agreed.
Swansea have not responded to Derby’s third bid, which failed to match their valuation of £2million up front.
And with a 50 per cent sell-on clause inserted in the deal which brought Bodde to Wales from Den Haag last summer, they are likely to hold out for as much money as they can get.
It could be that another club enters the race for Bodde’s signature, with Premier League new boys West Brom the latest side linked.
"Derby’s third bid was never official," Martinez added.
"It’s a compliment to us and what we did last season that they are interested, but that’s all it is and we’re focusing on pre-season."
Though he doesn’t want to lose Bodde, Martinez admits he has considered how he will fill the void should the Dutchman depart.
But he stressed: "In football you always need to look at the bigger picture and that’s all I’m doing.
"You need to have cover ready whether it’s for injuries, suspensions or losing players."
